Therapeutic Recreation
Sarasota County is proud to offer a therapeutic recreation program known as T-REC. The T-REC program offers organized therapeutic recreational programs designed for individuals with special needs and provides an inclusive approach to all recreation opportunities in Sarasota County.
The T-REC program provides year-round recreational opportunities for teens and adults with disabilities. Scheduled recreational activities take place at multiple venues throughout the county and include dances, water exercise classes, movie nights, sporting events and much more.

Activities and Special Events
Some of the events and programming include: T-REC Pool Party, T-REC Costume Masquerade Ball and many more throughout the year.
We welcome individuals of varying abilities to participate in our programs and visit our parks. We strive to offer programs designed for individuals with special needs while offering an inclusive approach to all recreation.
Some programs may require advance notification to accommodate individuals with disabilities.

Special Olympics

Miracle League of Manasota
The Miracle League of Manasota is an affiliate of the National Miracle League Association, joining more than 200 communities around the world that are providing opportunities for school aged youngsters and adults with physical and or cognitive challenges, giving them an opportunity to play baseball.
People challenged by any form of disability will be empowered to enjoy the joys and thrills of baseball regardless of their ability to play. Players should be accompanied at all times by a “buddy” who assists in the field and at the plate.
